Steps to Use the Format Painter:
- Select the
Source Range:
- Click on the cell or range that contains the formatting you want to copy.
- Activate the
Format Painter:
- Click on the
Format Painter button on the Home tab of the Ribbon. You'll notice that
the cursor will change to a paintbrush.
- Select the
Target Range:
- Click and
drag over the cells or range where you want to apply the formatting.
- Release the
Format Painter:
- Once you've selected the target range, simply click anywhere else in the worksheet to release the Format Painter.
Additional Tips:
- Multiple
Applications: You can apply the same formatting to multiple
ranges by continuing to click and drag after selecting the initial target
